O.K. It's Not So Secret


But it is about 200 Miles shorter to take Jungo Road(SR49). This route is not for the faint- hearted.It is 90 miles of dirt road, the first 55 miles are county maintained but the next 30 miles don't seem to be anybodys responsibility but yours. Take 2 spare tires!! When you reach the Black Rock Desert playa you will be able to see Black Rock City on the other side of the valley. Don't be tempted to cut across the playa. There are only 2 crossings on the railroad tracks and you won't be allowed entrance to BRC's back gate anyhow.The road improves the last 5 miles before you get to the paved road(SR447)just 3 miles south of Gerlach. After you go through Gerlach you take the right fork(SR34)and follow the signs to B.R.C. map

The turnoff to Jungo Road is reached by going North on Highway 95, under the freeway, over the Humboldt River and take the left after the railroad underpass.
